FLIT, the Cambridge-based electric bicycle developer, is excited to announce the launch of its new lightweight, folding ebike: the FLIT M2. Designed by ex-Jaguar Land Rover engineer Dave Henderson and a team of engineers to be the ultimate travel companion, the FLIT M2 further pushes the boundaries of how light and compact a folding ebike can be without sacrificing ride quality.

Other brands take a folding bike and make it electric by adding a motor and battery, often leaving you with something the size and weight of the heaviest bag that you can check in at the airport.

FLIT's ebikes are designed to be both folding and electric from scratch. This means that the FLIT engineers have built the electronics into our bike frames which, when combined with a patented fold, reduces the weight and folded size to more like hand luggage. You can carry it up to a third floor flat or stow it in the corner of your favourite cafe.

FLIT is launching the FLIT M2, a new lightweight folding ebike, in Spring 2023. They will have test rides and an exclusive Fully Charged LIVE South offer available at their stand (W18).

ABOUT FLIT

 

FLIT co-founders, Dave and Alex, met in 2015 and bonded over their shared love of getting around cities on electric bikes. Dave, an ex-Jaguar Land Rover engineer, had always been passionate about vehicle design whilst Alex dreamed of using his commercial and public policy experience to help make cities happier and healthier places to be. Together they wanted to create a product that made city travel effortless and that would fit neatly into urban lifestyles.

 

In 2016 they moved to Cambridge, the cycling capital of the UK, to begin the FLIT story, designing the FLIT-16 folding ebike from a blank sheet of paper. Since then, they have built a team of engineers and designers in Cambridge, launched the award-winning FLIT-16 through a crowdfunding campaign that achieved over 5 times its target, developed and launched the FLIT M2, and gone on to help hundreds of new riders join the ebike revolution.

An automotive engineer by training, Dave is working on his dream to make electric vehicles of all types a reality. Dave has overall responsibility for product design and manufacturing. His fluent Mandarin helps to build strong relationships with suppliers.
