Paul Clarke

Managing Director, Automotive Comms, Founder & Editor, Green Car Guide
Paul Clarke founded Green Car Guide, the UK’s original green car news site, in 2006, and has spent the last 16 years running the site and reviewing all the leading green cars – today, almost exclusively electric cars – with the aim of seeking out cars that are efficient and great to drive, and providing information to consumers about the latest electric cars in a quality, informed and engaging way. Paul has reviewed every electric and plug-in hybrid car that has ever been on sale in the UK. When not reviewing and writing about EVs through Green Car Guide, Paul is directing the communication of projects in the EV industry through his company Automotive Comms. Clients include Electric Vehicle Association (EVA) England – providing marketing, communication and PR support for the launch of the association, which aims to act as a voice for EV drivers in England. Other projects include Electric Nation, which was the world’s largest electric vehicle smart charging trial, and which is now a vehicle to grid trial – and its predecessor, My Electric Avenue. Paul has also directed the communication for Go Ultra Low Nottingham’s ULEV Experience initiative, and has worked with Transport for Greater Manchester’s Go Electric programme. Paul has run his own communication consultancy for over 30 years and for much of that time, in addition to specialising in the automotive industry, he has worked in the areas of the environment, sustainability, low carbon and energy, with clients such as The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the National Trust, Natural England and ScottishPower Renewables. Paul is driven by a desire to make a positive difference to create a healthier planet. The way to achieve this is by an immediate change in the actions of governments around the world to put sustainable development, biodiversity, conservation and renewable energy at the very top of their priority lists.
